As musician, I have released my own songs in a cd called "MUSICAGUA". I run music workshops in a private school -for children ranging from 1 to 12 years old-. I love singing, writing songs, and translating songs. I have translated famous Uruguayan writers [Alfredo Zitarrosa, Mario Benedetti] into French. I have composed music for two poems by Dylan Thomas, and composed a song in french, as well as translated one of mine into English.
In 1992 my first concert was held in Italy, run by the Peace School "SCUOLA DI PACE", a christian group concerned with third world issues. I presented Latin Ameroican and Uruguayan folklore, accompanied by percussionist Paolo Pasqualin, a renowned musician from the Municipal Orchestra of Domodossola [Italy].
I got a degree as Social Planner in Chile in 1993, after my thesis was accepted , and my first and only book was published. It is about the first housing cooperative in Uruguay organized by rubbish collectors -helped by the local church and by international NGOs.As part of this job, I wrote and directed a playwright to be performed by teenagers, about their housing problem and how they formed a cooperative.
Upon request, I composed tailored-made songs for NGOs projects on childhood and Youth. In fact I produced two video-clips for "Alternativa Chuy", an NGO working with youth in social risk -the youth themselves are the protagonists who perform, sing and dance, and show their project.
I love everything related to arts. I have already translated a book from French into Spanish -by Marc Ingelbrecht, a Belgian doctor who lived in EL SALVADOR [Central America] working for the Red Cross.
I would love translating novels, poetry, lyrics, doing subtitling for films and audiovisuals, singing translated songs, creating and singing jingles for advertising, and let the world know about Uruguay´s natural beauty and charming environment, marvellous coastline, magical beaches, fine sand, peaceful atmosphere and friendly people. Plus excellent beef and varied delicious specialities, with fine wines and the widest range of offer concerning cultural life -arts and beauty in general-.
I am fond of composing. Creative work is my element. |
