I like doing crossword puzzles. And to me, translating is like doing a crossword puzzle. Obviously they’re not exactly the same: in a crossword puzzle only one word fits for each answer, while in a translation many words can and often do fit. So finding the right fit is really what it’s all about and is what I can offer.
Every translation is a puzzle for which I always try to find the right fit for my clients. Whether it’s a legal translation, a technical translation, or a marketing translation (or any other), the process of searching for the right words, the right construction, the right register, and the right nuance is something I’ve always enjoyed. And I take pride in turning in a project that is well done, in which everything fits.
That pride in doing a good job, in seeking the best fit, and in combining the best words for my clients is what motivates me. It has ensured my success over the years. It has ensured happy clients. Give me a topic that I’m comfortable with, and I’ll show you a happy client.
What I won’t do is agree to take on a translation project that I’m not comfortable with. While I am skilled at translating a wide variety of topics, there are subjects that I won’t translate. That’s in both your interest and mine. And after over 20 years of translation experience, I have a pretty good I idea of what I can and can’t do. Pushing the envelope at times and challenging yourself is a positive thing, but recklessness is not. I think most people would agree.
If you need a solid, experienced translator, then I’m the one. I take pride in my work and enjoy what I do. I like trying to find the right fit. Let me find the right fit for you.
