Language and meaning are at the very centre of what I do. After graduating from the University of Oxford in 2015 with a First in German and Spanish, I began working as an editor and proofreader for an educational publishing company. I then went to work for Trinity Laban Conservatoire, where I managed a vast range of print and digital material. I currently work as a Senior Subeditor at The Economist Group, where I look after a large catalogue of reports and articles on Latin American politics and economics. I have been translating on a freelance basis since September 2018. I passed my DipTrans (Spanish to English) examination in 2021, with one merit. Since then, I have been working consistently for a German translation agency, mainly focusing on tourism, marketing and business texts. Some of the other projects I am most proud to have worked on are a non-fiction book about economics and the environment for a German publishing company and sleeve notes for a classical music CD. I have also collaborated on literary projects in both German and Spanish. I aim to bring accuracy, professionalism and a good dose of creativity to my craft. As a skilled project manager, I am used to complying with deadlines and confidentiality agreements. I am also very open to collaborating with other creators or translators. Do drop me a message if you'd like to talk about a project. You can also find me on LinkedIn. Thanks, Rose Jones |
