I’m Ileana De Cristofaro, an Italian freelance translator with a deep passion for languages and cultural exchange. After graduating in Foreign Languages and Literatures in 2003, with a specialization in Arabic and German, I spent several years working at the Cultural Office of an Arabic country Embassy in Rome. In 2021, I made the decision to fully dedicate myself to my true passion: translation.

Today, I work with Arabic, English, German, and Spanish, translating a wide range of content into my native Italian. My expertise spans contracts and administrative documents, legal documents, decrees, general documents, letters/emails, literature, culture, educational materials, technical product descriptions, and user manuals. Recently, I have also tackled translations in other areas such as marketing presentations and articles, financial reports, and medical reports. I focus on ensuring that each translation uses the appropriate style and tone for the specific field, delivering both precision and fluency.

Among my projects, I’ve been (and I'm still) involved in large-scale Human Translation (HT) and Machine Translation Post-Editing (MTPE) projects, where I've been also selected as a member of the Quality Assurance team for English to Italian and German to Italian translations, ensuring high standards of accuracy and consistency, following the criteria set by the company.
