Traducción - inglés This project focuses on building capacity, as policies, laws and equipment are much more valuable when they are entrusted to people who understand the power and usefulness of these tools, and on building the political will to apply this capacity in a useful, effect and sustainable way. Through training courses, policy makers will become familiar with: environmental science; the environmental policies, laws and regulations that exist but are not widely known or need to be updated; methods for effective governance; corporate social responsibility; the links between sustainable development and the environment; the commercial evaluation of renewable and non-renewable natural resources; and strategies for commercial negotiations. As the environment is a cross-cutting issue, elected members and managers in all fields should be encouraged to participate.
