I am an ATA certifies English into Portuguese translator.

I am completely fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish. I am very experienced in translating documents and well versed in interpreting.

I do have strong technical command of the Portuguese language; good knowledge of English and Spanish grammatical and syntax rules; serious commitment to excellence in the translated work.

I have been working as a translator/interpreter both free-lance and in-house since 1996.

Translation from English into Portuguese and from Portuguese into English, of patents, agreements, brochures, user manuals, instruction manuals, medical studies, medical reports, lab reports, press releases, glossary for software company, MSDSs (Material Data Safety Sheet), and other technical documents. I also translate documents from Spanish into Portuguese. I’ve also translated a few documents from Portuguese into Spanish and French into Portuguese, in the past.

• Some of the companies I translated documents for include: BASF, Securiton (through its Brazilian representative, Multilink), Nortel, Fuji, Dow Chemicals, Albany International Corporation, Ciba-Geigy, Andino Capital Markets, Deutsche Bank, Kraft Foods, Integra, Nec Electronics, Rhone-Poulenc AG Company, Vydia Yoga Ashram, Dalcon Ingenieria, Linguata, Porsche, Samsung, IFC (International Finance Corporation).
• The most extensive work assignment consisted of the translation from English into Portuguese of a carcinogenic study for an herbicide to be released in Brazil by the German company BASF, a report consisting of approximately 600 pages, about 450,000 words.
• Another large assignment was the translation of all the instruction manuals for the security system installed in the Afonso Pena International Airport, located in Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil, therefore enabling non-English speakers to access the information on those manuals. This amounted for approximately 250 pages or about 175,000 words.
• I also take several linguist assignments from translating agencies around the USA, including regular translation assignments from Transperfect, Galaxy Translations, Tampa Bay Translations, Burg Translations, Accu Trans, Inc., WordTrans LLP, Language Translation Services, and GLTac, Inc.
I've been working as a translator (both freelance and in-house) since 1996 and my work consists in translating patents, agreements, brochures, user manuals, instruction manuals, medical studies, medical reports, and other technical documents, mainly from English and Spanish into Portuguese. I also translated documents from Portuguese into English and into Spanish, and did some from French into Portuguese translations.

I have a great amount of experience working with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint and Internet Explorer.

I own a Dell desktop PC and a Toshiba portable PC, networked together, Lexmark Inkjet printer and fax machine.
I do have a DSL connection to the Internet from both PCs.
Operating system: Windows XP on both PCs.
Microsoft Office 2000 on both PCs.
