español term

rodela o tortero

español al inglés Técnico/Ingeniería Mecánica / Ing. mecánica Textile (spinner)
I'm translating an archaeological paper about the ancient snuff-taking practice among South American cultures from the Northwest of Argentina, specifically from the Humahuaca ravine ("Quebrada de Humahuaca").
This term refers to an element that goes at the bottom of the spindle for spinning ("huso para hilar")and helps to twist the thread.
Thank you very much.

guide ring

From what I understand of the mechanics of the process, I would suggest "guide ring" would be a good term: the thread goes through it to or from the bobbin.
