Noni Gilbert Riley
: Wonder why Beatriz doesn´t want non-native? I like it. Suppose we´re both allochthonous here in Spain?!

Looks as if I may have been way off... allochthonous flora doesn´t sound v promising, and flora alóctona is a high frequency collocation...I´ll keep plugging at it....

On second thoughts, yes it does work, and I fear DLyons hits may have been misread: the red alga is an example of a species which is "a long way from where it first originated" (an alien species). As in "not autochthonous, formed elsewhere".
