However, I am fortunate enough not to have to rely on working with any agencies at all.
Nowadays, I occasionally collaborate with two. One of them has, or used to have, a poor BB rating, and I think it may be banned from posting on proz; the reasons given were late payment, because their standard terms were 90 days, and they sometimes paid later than that. So maybe they're now reformed characters, I don't know.

No, but... Apr 20, 2019

I’ve received this last week an email from an agency I haven’t accepted projects for a long while (rates proposed are now about half what they were initially) announcing that they were moving to PEMT…

Yes, and I dropped them Apr 20, 2019

One client went over to machine translation, and I was sorry, because I had enjoyed working with them on some interesting projects. I did try one or two PEMT projects for them, but when they cut the rate, I decided it was really not what I had signed up for. I was revising my list of clients and partly retiring, so it was quite easy to add them to the list I was saying goodbye to!

No, because I don't work with agencies.

No! Apr 21, 2019

I've heard of a few agencies that have done that. They are probably bankrupt now. It's too early to switch to MT and PEMT. It may happen sooner or later, but tright now, agencies that do that are way too early in their hunger to make money.

I only worked for them once or twice before that because their prices where to low.
The funny thing are their training guidelines where they ask you not to change any terminology "do not over-revise" (if you've ever used machine translation, you'll appreciate the joke) ...
