Translation agency gone into liquidation - request for cover letter template

Unfortunately, a Swiss translation agency I have freelanced for regularly for a number of years has gone into liquidation. I have an unpaid invoice of approx. 400 EUR. The agency has given me the contact details of the notary dealing with the liquidation in order for me to forward my unpaid invoice to them. Would anyone be able to direct me to a template for a cover letter to send to the notary, also based in Switzerland? Many thanks.

Just explain the details in your own words and provide the invoice. As freelancers we are unsecured creditors and therefore low down the pecking order, so you're unlikely to see much (or perhaps any) of your money but it's worth a try.

Good luck and I'm sorry this has happened to you. It's horrible to get caught out like this.

Thank you for your reply, Rachel. I had a slight panic about what to write to the notaries when I received the news about the liquidation last week, but I have just sent them a brief email with the invoice attached. It's not a nice situation to be in, but fortunately it's not a huge sum of money. The translation agency have got bigger problems themselves right now.
