developing Explanation: http://www.find-health-articles.com/rec_pub_17058653-arachno... [Arachnoid cyst complicated by intracystic hemorrhage and spontaneous subdural hematoma: magnetic resonance findings] (Quiste aracnoideo complicado con hemorragia intraquística y hematoma subdural espontneo: hallazgos en resonancia magnética.) Full Abstract Arachnoid cysts are collections of cerebrospinal fluid within the arachnoid membrane. They are benign lesions and most are congenital. They are usually asymptomatic; however, they can bleed and become symptomatic. Although arachnoid cyst associated to intracystic hemorrhage and spontaneous subdural hematoma is an uncommon complication, it is a well-known indication for emergency neurosurgery. We present the findings in a ten-year-old boy diagnosed with arachnoid cyst complicated by intracystic hemorrhage and spontaneous subdural hematoma diagnosed by magnetic resonance. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 4 hrs (2009-01-17 17:43:14 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Emma: based on your last posting, it appears that some bleeding was present. Would it be that it is becoming pronounced? more evident? -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 5 hrs (2009-01-17 19:05:50 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- , ie the bleeding .. or the bleeding was developing but only became more pronounced and required surgery after 2 years!!!!!! the word cronico is what throws you!! Emma: I would suggest that you consult your client pointing out that there may be? an inconsistency in the text. What appears to be throwing us all(?) is the word 'crónico'. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 day4 hrs (2009-01-18 17:46:49 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- @ Liz: In fact I have not assumed anything. I have in fact recommended that the asker check her client regarding the two statements which are of concern. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 day7 hrs (2009-01-18 21:21:53 GMT) Post-grading -------------------------------------------------- Thank you so much Emma. Were you able to ask your client for clarification? |
