Ongoing Projects:

As part of a team of content creators for a product review portal, I translate German reviews of smart home devices for the UK website. Articles include reviews of smartwatches, robot vacuum cleaners, cordless vacuum cleaners and other miscellaneous smart devices for your home. As part of the translation process, I carry out SEO reports to include relevant keywords and optimise the article for search engine ranking. 

I am also currently part of Amazon's German to UK English freelance translation team, for which I translate and post-edit product descriptions for a wide variety of products for the English market. I complete these using Amazon's own CAT tool, Web Editor, and am experienced using functions such as translation memories and running QA checks to ensure my finished translation are top quality. I also edit strings of content for their website to ensure the best user experience.

Education:

During my Bachelor's Degree, I studied German and Spanish and wrote a thesis discussing the cultural representation and the role of the translator in literary translation from German to English. I also got the opportunity to study in Germany at the University of Potsdam and work in an English academy in Spain during my studies. I graduated with a First Class Honours Degree and have been working on some freelance translation alongside my full-time job since graduating.
