The mother of two and vegetable farmer knew little about the practice of horizontal drilling or multi-stage hydraulic fracturing.
The practice involves the injection of highly pressurized fluids into mile deep wells that later mole out horizontally for another mile or two, in order to break open shale rock as tight as granite.

Texto de origen - inglés China has announced it will step down shale gas subsidies over the next five years, in a further blow to the nation’s plans to match the US “shale revolution”.
Subsidies will drop to RMB0.30 per cubic meter from 2016-2018 from RMB0.40 cubic meter now, and will be cut further to RMB0.20 in 2019-2020, according to the Ministry of Finance.
Beijing pushed its state-owned oil companies to develop shale in an effort to solve China’s reliance on oil imports by creating a domestic alternative by fiat. Oil companies Sinopec and PetroChina have vowed to meet centrally-set targets for shale gas production despite disappointing initial results. They say they needed subsidies to do so.

Texto de origen - español Todos los trabajos de altura contarán siempre con un asistente en tierra, con lo cual, cualquier actividad de este tipo requerirá un mínimo de tres (3) personas: Un (1) Torrista habilitado, según lo solicitado para dar cumplimiento a esta Norma, un (1) Rescatista o Miembro del grupo con entrenamiento comprobado, para realizar esta tarea (a través de documentación probatoria), en tierra y un (1) responsable del trabajo o Jefe de Obra.
• Toda maniobra tiene que contar con un Técnico de Seguridad en sitio, provisto por el proveedor, quien será el encargado de supervisarlas, para que la misma se realice en forma segura, tomando todas las precauciones que se detallan en el Procedimiento.
• El asistente en tierra, debe seguir todas las maniobras efectuadas por el personal en altura, coordinando a través de un medio de comunicaciones; las necesidades y novedades de el/los torrista que realizan la tarea en la altura. Deberá además y en todo momento, estar en contacto con el técnico de seguridad y el jefe de obra. Si se produjera un evento de emergencia, deberá notificarlo de inmediato al técnico de seguridad quien dará aviso al jefe de obra, quien coordinara las tareas de rescate. El asistente en tierra, podrá cumplir funciones de rescatista, en el caso que presentara su habilitación como tal.
• El responsable de toda la coordinación de obra, y de la ejecución del plan de rescate, es el Jefe de obra a quien secundarán, el Técnico de seguridad y el asistente/rescatista.

• Any maneuver has to include a Safety Technical Advisor on site, provided by the supplier, who will be in charge of supervise it so that it is safely performed, taking into account all the precautions detailed in the Procedure.
• The ground support assistant must follow all the maneuvers executed by the high-rise staff, coordinating via a means of communication the needs and news from the derrick men performing the high-rise work. The assistant must keep contact with the safety technical advisor and the work superintendent at all times. In the event of an emergency situation, the assistant must notify immediately the safety technical advisor, who shall communicate it to the work superintendent who shall coordinate the rescue operations. The ground support assistant shall be able to fulfil the rescuer duties if he has the authorization for it.
• The responsible for all the work coordination and the execution of the rescue plan is the work superintendent supported by the Safety Technical Advisor and the assistant/rescuer.
