Languages used? Feb 12, 2013

Hello,

Seeing that you are a Japanese/English translator, will the examples/searches involve Japanese?
Thank you.

Thierry,

Great question! Most of those who have shown interest in the course or who are already registered are not Japanese translators. Therefore, I have gone to great lengths in order to present things in as general of a way as possible so that everyone can benefit regardless of what languages you work with.

Great question! Most of those who have shown interest in the course or who are already registered are not Japanese translators. Therefore, I have gone to great lengths in order to present things in as general of a way as possible so that everyone can benefit regardless of what languages you work with.

That being said, there is the occasional Japanese term that is used for demonstrating how to filter search engine results, but I will always translate the page into English with the browser, so no Japanese knowledge is necessary. This portion of the presentation is short (roughly 7 minutes) and Japanese will not be used for the rest of the presentation.

I hope that answers your question. Please let me know if I can help further and thank you for your interest in the course.

Suggestions before the presentation Mar 1, 2013

Thank you all for your interest in this important topic. I am excited as we get closer to the presentation day, and eager to help you build your business. If I may suggest something before the presentation, it may be beneficial to read the articles on Proz.com regarding specialization.

If you are already specialized in something, this presentation will still have much to offer by introducing new research techniques and resources. Newer translators can also benefit tremendously by

If you are already specialized in something, this presentation will still have much to offer by introducing new research techniques and resources. Newer translators can also benefit tremendously by learning how they can move from generalizing to specialization easily with the resources offered in this webinar. There are many articles on specialization, but please start your search here: http://www.proz.com/translation-articles/articles/79/

I was called away to resolve an urgent matter on the day of this course - is there a way I can watch the content belatedly?

Thanks
