I have in-depth knowledge of Latin America and the Caribbean (especially Chile, Central America, Colombia, Cuba and Haiti), including the legal systems, gained by working for 19 years in the Americas Research Program of Amnesty International. In the course of my translation work, I have also developed knowledge of the Spanish and French legal systems.

MA (with distinction) in Applied Translation Studies from the University of North London (now London Metropolitan University). 

My clients have included several international human rights and development ngos as well as an international governmental organization and agencies with UN or EU contracts.

Among other things, I have translated two books on military courts and international law for an international human rights ngo and numerous reports and other documentation on the human rights situation in Spain, Latin America, France, French-speaking Africa and the Middle East for other international ngos, including reports on the situation of women and indigenous peoples in several countries. I also have experience with women's health issues, especially sexual and reproductive health, and disability. I have also translated a number of academic books and articles on issues ranging from international organizations and social anthropology to football hooliganism.
