As a professional translator and software developer, I offer specialist French/Spanish-English translations in the field of IT, as well as translations in a range of other subjects, to a variety of direct clients and agencies.

IT/business background: I am Sun-certified Java programmer. I have been programming on a freelance basis for over 20 years and have several years' "industry" experience working as a developer for UK software firms, giving me real-life knowledge of business processes within commercial organisations in addition to my highly specialist knowledge of IT and software development. In addition to technical protocols, I therefore provide accurate, idiomatic translations of marketing materials, internal communications, contracts etc.

In addition to my development work for a UK software firm and my translation activities, I also run the Javamex web site focussed towards Java performance information and tutorials. I have also written various pieces educational and language-oriented software and have a number of apps live in Apple's App Store.

Linguistic background: I hold a degree in Modern Languages from Oxford University, UK and an MPhil in Linguitsics from Cambridge University, UK. For over 15 years, I have been developing the French Linguistics web site, one of the most used French dictionary sites on the web, from where I also offer a more general French/Spanish-English translation service.

I have translated for a full spectrum of companies over the past two decades, from major banks and retailers to academic institutions. I also regularly translate material such as 'compromis de vente' for individuals purchasing properties in France.
