1. ETAT DU MARCHE AUTOMOBILE EN EUROPE
Activité du Groupe RENAULT :
En 2010, fort de l’attractivité de sa gamme et dans un marché mondial véhicules particuliers et utilitaires (VP VU) en hausse de 11,7 %, le Groupe a augmenté ses ventes de 13,7 % avec une part de marché de 3,7 %.
L’ensemble des marques du groupe a connu cette croissance :
• les ventes de la marque Renault progressent de 13,6 %,
• celles de Dacia progressent de 11,8 % et
• celles de Renault Samsung Motors progressent de 18,6 % ;
Par rapport au marché européen :
En Europe, sur un marché VP VU en baisse de 3,7 %, la part de marché du Groupe augmente ( 1,1 point) en s’établissant à 10,7 %.
Hors Europe, les ventes VP VU augmentent de 26,2 % et progressent plus vite que les marchés.
Le chiffre d’affaires du Groupe s’établit à 38 971 millions d’euros, en hausse de 15,6 % par rapport au chiffre d’affaires 2009.
La marge opérationnelle du Groupe en 2010 s’élève à 1 099 millions d’euros, soit 2,8 % du chiffre d’affaires, contre -396 millions d’euros et -1,2 % en 2009.
La marge opérationnelle de l’Automobile progresse de 1 298 millions d’euros à 396 millions d’euros (1,1 % de son chiffre d’affaires) en raison notamment :
• d’une hausse des volumes pour 698 millions d’euros (due notamment à la « prime d’état »)
• d’un effet parité positif de 288 millions d’euros notamment lié à la baisse de l’Euro face au Rouble, au Real brésilien, au Won sud-coréen et aux autres devises européennes,

S’agissant des entreprises associées :

Professional Profile
Karim Keita a un parcours professionnel relativement atypique. Initialement, pendant sa formation en école de commerce, il pensait plutôt aller vers des fonctions marketing et effectue alors des stages en marketing produit chez Sanofi-Synthélabo et en études marketing chez GFK mais c’est finalement l’univers du design qui l’attire. Il cible alors les agences de design et trouve un CDD chez Euro RSCG au sein du département Retail Design.
C’est le début d’un parcours en agences qui va durer 11 ans. L’expérience EURO RSCG dure peu car l’agence ne pouvait pas lui proposer un CDI. Il accepte alors une proposition de l’agence Londsale qui est spécialisé non pas dans le design mais dans le packaging. Ce sera une bonne école d’apprentissage pour apprendre la rigueur d’une prise de brief marketing et comprendre les enjeux d’image et de positionnement d’une marque. Le cœur de son expérience en agence se déroule chez Desgrippes Gobé. Il est sollicité par un ancien d’Euro RSCG pour participer à la création du département Retail Design. L’agence Desgrippes Gobé est une des références françaises dans le domaine du design et de l’identité visuelle. Rapidement, le candidat a l’opportunité de travailler sur des projets globaux allant au-delà du Retail Design pour des clients (Air France, Leroy Merlin, Majorica) souhaitant que l’agence les conseille depuis la réflexion sur la marque, son positionnement et son image jusqu’à la présentation des produits et l’expérience client sur le point de vente. Karim Keita travaille en grande proximité avec le Directeur en charge du département « branding & marketing strategy » et en tant que Directeur de Projet englobe aussi bien les enjeux d’identité visuelle, que de merchandising ou bien encore de concept de magasin ou de packaging de produit.
En 2007, il souhaitait aller du côté de l’entreprise pour et avoir une expérience opérationnelle. Il est embauché par L’Oréal pour créer la fonction d’International Retail Marketing qui englobe le trade marketing et le merchandising, fonctions qui ne dépendaient pas auparavant de la même personne.
L’équipe trade marketing était d’un bon niveau mais il y avait beaucoup de travail à faire pour monter en compétences l’équipe merchandising. Une autre difficulté que va surmonter Karim Keita sera de se faire accepter par les équipes régionales (General Manager de pays) et de trouver sa place entre les équipes marketing et commerciales. Pour y arriver, il se concentre sur des projets ciblés régionaux (France, Corée, Canada, …) avant de faire le déploiement au niveau international (new merchandising tools, new retail deisgn look, …).
En 2009, L’Oréal évoque sa future évolution vers un poste plus large de type General Manager d’une petite filiale. On lui demande alors de partir sur le terrain pour avoir une expérience commerciale et compléter ainsi son parcours professionnel. A la fin de cette période de 6 mois, il devait partir en Croatie mais L’Oréal va entrer dans une période de réorganisation. Il mène alors plusieurs projets au sein de la Direction Marketing de la Divison Produits de Luxe en attendant sa future affectation mais, les choses ne se précisant pas, il choisit de négocier son départ à la fin de l’année 2010, pour partir sur un projet de création d’entreprise.
Personal Profile
Né d’un père Guinéen et d’une mère Bretonne, Karim Keita, bien qu’il ait été éduqué en France, s’est toujours senti naturellement ouvert sur le monde et sur les autres cultures. Volontaire et déterminé, Karim Keita est une personne qui a de la présence et du leadership. Il aime les challenges et n’hésite à quitter sa zone de confort pour progresser. Il gère bien la pression et sait tenir ses engagements.
A l’aise tout à la fois dans la partie conceptualisation et dans la partie réalisation, il a clairement un très bon niveau intellectuel et, à nos yeux, encore un vrai potentiel d’évolution.
Motivation to change
Lorsque nous l’avons contacté, Karim Keita était sur le point de réintégrer L’Oréal, à la demande du nouveau patron de la Division Produits de Luxe, Nicolas Hiéronimus, pour prendre le poste d’Area Manager sur la zone Africa & French Overseas Departments and Territories. Ce retour est pour l’instant décalé compte tenu des évènements récents en Afrique et au Maghreb. Il est, pour l’instant, encore libre de tout engagement officiel.
Le Projet Safilo le motive tout particulièrement car :
1) Il souhaite (ainsi que son épouse) avoir une expérience à l’international dans une société internationale,
2) L’ambition du poste et son contenu qui semble, à ses yeux, le prolongement naturel de son expérience en agences puis chez L’Oréal.
3) La découverte d’un nouveau secteur d’activité.

Professional Profile
Karim Keita has a relatively atypical career path. During his training at business school, he had initially thought of directing himself towards marketing roles and therefore carried out work experience in marketing with Sanofi-Synthélabo and studied marketing at GFK. However, it was the world of design that had finally attracted him. He then targets design agencies and finds fixed term contracts with Euro RSCG at the heart of the Retail Design department.
It´s the beginning of a career path with agencies which would last 11 years. His experience with EURO RSCG doesn´t last long as the agency could not offer him a permanent contract. He then accepts an offer by Londsale agency which does not specialise in design but in packaging. It would be a good training school to learn the rigour of a brief marketing shot and understand image stakes and the positioning of a brand. The core of his agency experience takes place at Desgrippes Gobé. He is solicited by a former Euro RSCG employee to take part in the creation of the Retail Design department. Desgrippes Gobé agency is one the French references within the field of design and visual identity. The candidate quickly has the opportunity to work on global projects beyond Retail Design for clients (Air France, Leroy Merlin, Majorica) hoping the agency would advise them by reflection on the brand, its positioning and its image as far as the presentation of products and the client experience at point of sale. Karim Keita works in great proximity with the Director in charge of the "branding & marketing strategy" department and as far as Project Director, this includes the visual identity stakes, merchandising as well as the shop concept or product packaging.
In 2007, he wanted to go to the corporate side to get operational experience. He is hired by L´Oréal to create the International Retail Marketing role which encompasses trade marketing and merchandising. Roles which were not previously expected by the same person.
The trade marketing team was at a good level but he had a lot of work to do increase the competence of the merchandising team. Another difficulty that Karim Keita has to overcome was to be made accepted by the regional teams (Country General Manager) and to find his place within the marketing and commercial teams. To get there, he concentrates on regional targeted projects (France, Korea, Canada,...) before making the move to international level (new merchandising tools, new retail design look,....)
In 2009, L´Oréal evokes his future evolution towards a broader position of the General Manager of a small subsidiary. He is then asked to go on site to get commercial experience and thus complete his professional path. At the end of this 6 month period, he should have gone to Croatia but L´Oréal was going through a reorganisational period. He then leads several projects within Marketing Management of Luxury Product Division whilst waiting for future assignments, however, with no real prospects, he decides to negotiate his departure at the end of 2010 to take on a company start-up project.
Personal Profile
Born by a Father from Guinea and a Mother from Breton, Karim Keita, albeit educated in France, has always felt naturally open to to the world and to other cultures. Self-willed and determined, Karim Keita is a person with presence and leadership. He loves challenges and does not hesitate to leave his comfort zone in order to progress. He manages well under pressure and knows how to keep his commitments.
Equally at ease in the areas of conceptualisation and realization, he clearly has a very high level of intellect and, in our eyes, great potential for growth.
Motivation to change
When we contacted him, Karim Keita was on the verge of returning to L´Oréal, at the request of the new head of Luxury Products Division, Nicolas Hiéronimus, to take up the position of Area Manager for the Africa & French Overseas Departments and Territories area. This return has shifted for the moment taking into account the recent events in Africa and in Morocco. He is, for the moment, still free of any official engagement.
The Safilo Project especially motivates him because:
1) He hopes (together with his wife) to get international experience within an international organisation.
2) The ambition of the position and its contents seem to be, in his opinion, a natural progression of his agency experience then with L´Oréal.
3) The discovery of a new working sector.

CFI, en partenariat avec l’UNESCO, organise du 25 au 29 juillet à Brazzaville, une première session de formation à la réalisation de sujets sur la thématique du SIDA. Ce projet vise à accompagner cinq pays d’Afrique centrale dans leurs actions de sensibilisation des téléspectateurs à ce fléau. Les sujets seront diffusés sur le réseau CFI Afrique lors de la journée mondiale de lutte contre le Sida le 1er décembre 2011 8 binômes, composés d’un journaliste et d’un réalisateur, assisteront à cette formation. Les télévisions suivantes seront représentées : Cameroun (CRTV et Canal 2), Centrafrique (TVCA), Congo Brazzaville (MNTV et Télécongo), Gabon (Télé Africa), République Démocratique du Congo (RTNC et Télé 7). Sylvie Sargueil, médecin journaliste indépendante, animera ce premier atelier autour des problématiques liées à l’écriture de sujets. Pour cette première étape, chaque binôme rédigera deux sujets et le meilleur sera réalisé. Les bénéficiaires de cette formation disposeront ensuite de 8 semaines pour tourner et commencer le montage du sujet (dépôt des images sur le FTP CFI). Organisé en septembre 2011, le prochain atelier sera consacré au montage. Pendant 4 jours, 2 monteurs se rendront dans les pays africains pour appuyer chaque binôme dans la finalisation des sujets.

CFI, in partnership with UNESCO, has organised an initial training session from 25th to 29th July in Brazzaville for the composition of topics on the theme of AIDS. This project aims to support five Countries from Central Africa in their efforts to raise awareness of this plague to the viewers. The topics will be broadcast on the CFI Africa network during World Aids Day on 1st December 2011. 8 working pairs, made up of a journalist and a director, will attend this training. The following television channels will be represented: Cameroon (CRTV et Canal 2), Central African Republic (TVCA), Congo Brazzaville (MNTV and Télécongo), Gabon (Télé Africa), Democratic Republic of Congo (RTNC et Télé 7). Sylvie Sargueil, independent medical journalist, will drive this initial workshop around the problems linked to topic writing. For this initial stage, each working pair will write up two topics and the best will be made. The recipients of this training will then spend 8 weeks shooting and start editing the topic (deposit of images on the CFI FTP). Organised for September 2011, the next workshop will be dedicated to editing. For 4 days, 2 film editors will go back to the African Countries to support each working pair in the completion of the topics.

PREAMBULE
La biodiversité (faune, flore, milieu naturel) est le tissu vivant qui couvre et anime la planète dont nous faisons partie. Cette biodiversité offre une capacité d’adaptation à un environnement en pleine mutation. La biodiversité, qui constitue la richesse des ressources biologiques pour nous et pour nos enfants, fait partie intégrante du développement durable.
Aujourd’hui, le constat scientifique sur la biodiversité est sans appel : une espèce sur huit, parmi les plantes connues, est menacée d’extinction à cause de la dégradation des habitats sauvages. D’ici 2050, un quart des espèces animales et végétales aura disparu si rien n’est fait pour enrayer ce déclin accéléré de la biodiversité.
Face à ces menaces dues aux activités humaines, une association d’hommes et de femmes, d’horizons divers, s’est constituée avec la volonté d’agir en créant l’Association de L’Herboretum, sur un domaine de 9 hectares, situé à Saint Ay, près d’Orléans, dans le centre de la France. L’Herboretum, qui signifie « jardin d’herbes », a pour vocation de préserver la biodiversité locale et de valoriser les plantes- ressources, dont celles utilisées pour la beauté et la santé.
L’Herboretum de Saint Ay a choisi comme emblème la Quintefeuille (Potentilla reptans), plante officinale à cinq feuilles et aux vertus thérapeutiques connues depuis l’Antiquité, qui apporte le bien-être à l’âme et au cœur et ouvre le chemin du succès si on la porte sur soi.
LA CREATION D’UNE FEDERATION
La préservation de la biodiversité est maintenant une préoccupation mondiale parce que l’impact de son érosion a des conséquences vitales sur l’avenir de l’humanité.
L’Homme ne peut se passer des biens et des services que lui procure la biodiversité. C’est son « assurance-vie ». La biodiversité pourvoit à nos besoins biologiques pour se nourrir, se vêtir, se loger ou se soigner. Les écosystèmes fournissent d’indispensables services écologiques aux populations humaines, sans intervention de leur part, tel le recyclage de la matière organique, la régulation des climats, la pollinisation des cultures, etc. La diversité du vivant constitue un vivier pour quantité de produits et de molécules d’un grand intérêt industriel, pharmaceutique ou cosmétique.
C’est pourquoi, afin de préserver les richesses de nos patrimoines planétaires, s’est imposée la création d’une Fédération des Herboretums pour rassembler tous ceux qui souhaitent s’impliquer dans la préservation du vivant, et notamment du monde végétal.
Chaque Herboretum, et, en particulier, les acteurs concernés par l’utilisation des ressources végétales, s’inscrivent dans une démarche durable. Les modes de production et de consommation doivent respecter l’environnement humain et naturel, et permettre à tous les habitants de la terre et aux générations futures de satisfaire leurs besoins.
Chaque Herboretum, à l’échelle d’un pays ou d’une région, s’identifie par une espèce végétale emblématique, dite « plante-drapeau », dont la protection et la gestion permettent la sauvegarde de tout son écosystème.

PREAMBLE
The biodiversity (fauna, flora, natural environment) is the living tissue which covers and livens up the planet of which we are part of. This biodiversity supplies an adaptation capacity in an environment in full mutation. Biodiversity, which constitutes the wealth of biological resources for ourselves and for our children, is an integral part of sustainable development.
The official scientific report on biodiversity is final: one out of eight species, among known plants, is threatened with extinction because of the deterioration of wild habitats. Between now and 2050, a quarter of animal species and plants would have disappeared if nothing is done to stop this accelerated decline in biodiversity.
Faced with these threats, due to human activities, an association of men and women, from various backgrounds, was formed with willingness to take action by creating the Association of The Herboretum, on an estate of 9 hectares, located in Saint Ay, near Orléans, in the centre of France. The Herboretum, which means « herb garden », is intended to preserve local biodiversity and promote resource-plants, of which are used for health and beauty.
The Herboretum of Saint Ay chose the Cinquefoil (Potentilla reptans) as an emblem, a five-leaved medicinal plant with known therapeutic virtues from ancient times, which brings well being to the heart and soul and opens the way to success if one carries it on oneself.
THE SETTING UP OF A FEDERATION
The preservation of biodiversity is now a global concern because the impact of its erosion has vital consequences on the future of humanity.
Mankind cannot do without the goods and services which are given to him by biodiversity. It’s his « life insurance ». Biodiversity sees to our biological needs to feed, clothe, house or take care of ourselves. The ecosystems supply essential ecological services to human populations, with no intervention on their behalf, such as recycling organic material, climate control, crop pollination, etc. The variety of living forms consists of a breeding ground for a quantity of products and molecules with great industrial, pharmaceutical or cosmetic interest.
That is why, in order to preserve the wealth of our global heritage, the setting up of a Federation of Herboretums has been established to bring together all those who wish to take part in the preservation of living forms, and notably in the vegetation world.
Every Herboretum, and in particular the agents concerned with the usage of vegetation resources, register themselves in a sustainable approach. The modes of production and consumption must respect the human and natural environment, and allow all the populations of the world and future generations to satisfy their needs.
Each Herboretum, on the scale of a Country or region, identifies itself by an emblematic plant species, said « plant-flag », for which protection and control allow the safeguarding of the whole of its ecosystem.

English (native speaker), French (fluent), Arabic (colloquial Egyptian) and Spanish.
I have always been fascinated by the ability to translate and interpret the true meaning behind words cross-culturally. Not only is it essential to have a good command of the language in question but it is equally important to understand the culture and mentality behind both the source and target languages. There is certainly nothing more frustrating than the mis-interpretation of a text, whether it be a document or subtitles on a film.
I was brought up in Cairo, Egypt, educated in french schools (English mother tongue). I continued my education in the U.K. going on to successfully completing an Hons degree in Tourism Management & Marketing with Spanish. My working experience has been mainly within the administrative field, acting as Personal Assitant to top level directors. This has taken me through a diverse range of industries, Hotel Management, Business, Merchant Banking, Engineering, Education, Insurance and Architecture. Working in Cairo for a few years and then in U.K. for the majority part of my professional career and later on in Barcelona, Spain. Mostly working in the English language, I was also using French, Arabic and Spanish on an ad hoc basis.
I am also a certified TESOL teacher which has given me additional interesting insight into how important it is to disambiguate words correctly, depending on context. This is to be highly respected. Having decided to become a freelance translator, I completed a French to English translation diploma with the Institute of Linguistics, City University in London in 2009.
