I am a citizen of Germany and live in Northern Bavaria. I have been working in the translation field since 1983 and solely as a freelancer since early 2013. I am currently looking for new clients.
I was an exchange student in Wales in 1979/1980, studying English and history.
In 1982, I earned a State Diploma from the IFA Language School at Erlangen University in Spanish translating and interpreting with a minor in English translating. In 1983 I earned a State Diploma in English translating.
From 1982 till 1988, I worked for a publishing house, doing mostly English-German and German-English translation work, and some Spanish-German. Since 1982 up till now, I have been working as a free-lance translator, translating above all certified legal documents and a few non-certified translations from English into German, mostly from the law, business management, and medical fields, and some technical engineering texts.
Between 1988 and 2012, I worked in insurance sales, always doing additional translation work on the side.
I was married to an English native speaker from 1985 to 2019, and I speak English fluently.
