My name is Paulo Mariano Lopes, I am Portuguese and work as Sworn Translator [Court Interpreter/Certified Public Translator] in Brazil. I worked as a Technical Translator at Votorantim Group, Brazilian's largest industrial group and world leading cement manufacturer, for almost four years; since 2004 I run my own company, Vortex Traducoes, a company valid and existing under the laws of Federative Republic of Brazil. Since 2012, I am Sworn Translator, as such, with sound experience in the translation of agreements & contracts, lawsuits, letters of requests, petitions…).

I am graduated in Tourism/Marketing (BA degree) from a Portuguese university and my language combinations include English, French, Spanish, Italian & Portuguese (European & Brazilian). I have also worked extensively as consecutive translator (over 5,000 hours) and simultaneous translation (with own equipment to meet any meeting requirements).

I must emphasize my long, sound experience in all Industrial fields, namely Industrial Engineering, Mechanics, Electricity, Plant Commissioning, a.s.o. I have also a long background as consecutive interpreter, namely at industrial plants (commissioning, turnkey projects, business meetings…). As for CAT tools, I use SDL TRADOS and WordFast Classic.

Some of the areas where I deal with are: Patents, Industrial & Mechanical Engineering, Electricity, Electronics, Industrial Standards & Codes, Oil & Gas, Sugar, Cement, Marine Science, Tourism, Marketing, Foreign Trade, a.s.o. Among my key customers, I should stress Brazilian State-run oil company, PETROBRAS, some of the leading industrial groups in Brazil, some of the foremost utilities companies (namely in the Power/Energy sector), plus a wide range of industrial companies and plants operating in Brazil and abroad.

As far as Finance/Economics is concerned, I should stress the various finance-related documents, plus some localization projects for a web course of Accounting & Auditing.
