Traducción - inglés Description of Vauban's defensive system:
In front of you and to your right is the NE facade. It is the only example in France of a perfectly preserved second defensive system by VAUBAN. We are now skirting round bastions 20 and 21, built by VAUBAN to protect the Tour des Bourgeois. Half-circle 26 is a structure that was designed to protect the Porte de Brisach.
The bastion towers were developed at Belfort as part of its second defensive system, specifically in order to protect the corners of the fortifications under threat from the nearby hills.
With its outwork, namely counterguard 28, bastion tower 27 forms part of both the distant and close-quarter defences of the North facade. Bastion tower 27 is one of 3 towers built by VAUBAN, along with tower 41 and tower 46, to the west and south of the fortified wall respectively. From this spot, the visitor has an impressive view over the North facade of the perfectly preserved fortifications, which allow one to understand VAUBAN'S skill, and how his defensive system is adapted to the layout of the land. Here, it is the use of relief between the Tour des Bourgeois, which is invisible behind the bastions protecting both it and Tower 27.
francés al inglés: Conference on Ageing

Traducción - inglés The whole world is aging: everyone is living longer and will continue to live longer, and this also applies to developing countries.
In Europe generally, and particularly in a large number of EU countries, the “elderly care market” is currently solvent, thanks to the financial and social obligations of each country, and thanks also to the fact that old people now enjoy higher incomes.
The aims of this conference are twofold:
- to show those responsible for financing “social welfare” policies that using home-automation devices and Information and Communications Technology can improve the care offered to old, dependent people without incurring prohibitive, additional expense.
- to make companies aware of the potential business opportunities created by the loss of physical independence among old people, and also by their loss of mental independence, the latter being a new and innovative market sector.
