Bio

MC TRANSLATION

"Affordable and precise translations for all your professional needs"

English-Spanish, Spanish-English Services

Bilingual translator, interpreter, and doctoral candidate from The University of Texas at Austin in Latin American Studies. For the past decade, I've lived in Mexico and the United States in order to broad my interests and professional experiences. This strange and exciting journey led me to explore numerous subjects and areas of knowledge (literature, sociology, anthropology, ethnic and gender studies), as well as gain experience in numerous jobs in different fields and transnational environments.

I am looking for unique and unusual translation and interpretation projects requiring improvisation and creativity. Over the years, I learned that the skills of a translator are needed in all kinds of work environments. We live in a global reality where cultural and linguistic exchange is now a common aspect of any type of job; in turn, I believe this demands a need for translators with a diverse set of skills and vast knowledge in all areas of human experience.

My areas of expertise are academic fields (literature, art, sociology, anthropology, social sciences) and the humanities, but I also have considerable experience working on technical manuals, non-official legal documents, social media, marketing, and journalism. I have a technical certificate in Translation and Conference Interpretation from ITESM (Nuevo León, México).

Because of my doctoral research, I'll travel through Mexico and the US in the next two years and I'm excited to explore new types of jobs and share my skills with institutions, business companies, and nonprofit associations.

In addition, I can also provide unique services outside regular translations including:

  • Cultural consulting and sensitivity training (all regions of Latin America).
  • Online language classes.
  • 24/7 interpretation services and tourist guide in the Mexico City area.
  • Script and novel doctoring
  • Freelance writing in English and Spanish
