I'm a British 40 something who recently moved to the US with my young family. I have also lived in Spain for 19 years, spending my entire childhood and early education in Calpe (Alicante) - if you haven't been there, you should! I was brought up bilingual and at an early age my parents suggested I take up French to make up for the fact that my primary school was teaching English. I have always loved the French language and eventually studied French (combined with Genetics) at University, spending my 3rd year living in Paris.
My further studies include a Master's degree in Translation from Imperial College London. I also completed a Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (Law). In terms of work experience, I dabbled with project management with an agency, but soon realised that my passion was in the actual translation of texts. I have been freelance ever since.
The texts that make me tick are generally the heavy scientific variety, particularly anything in the medical field. One of my past long term projects has been translating medical records and histories for the Department for Work and Pensions.
I look forward to forming new working relationships in the future.
