Frankly speaking, I am a full-time translator of Portuguese and Georgian to my native English with over 5 years of experience as a linguist. While Portuguese and Georgian are the languages I translate daily, I also occasionally translate from Galego, Spanish, and French into English. Additionally, I have reading knowledge of Modern Hebrew, Ladino, Polish, and Ukrainian and have studied Latin, Tétun, Megruli, and Svan.

I have extensive experience producing academic and legal translations as well as translations related to the wine world and the fields of aviation, photography, education, government, and the military.

As for academic translations, I have translated academic articles, book summaries, and other works in the fields of linguistics, history, art history, photography, and oenology.

With regard to legal translations, I have a particular interest in immigration law and LGBTQ-related issues and have translated a large number of legal documents related to both topics.

I have also translated constitutional articles, tax codes, other official court and government documents, pedagogical materials, photographic exhibitions, and wine-related documents and videos.

As my Master's degree in Linguistics (Georgetown University, Washington, D.C.) focused primarily on historical and comparative approaches, I have used the time I have lived in Georgia and Portugal to travel extensively throughout both in order to gain a deeper understanding of the linguistic subtleties and variations within each. This intellectual curiosity and deep cultural and linguistic background enables me to quickly understand any text given to me in full detail, such that all of my clients receive timely, high-quality texts.

I work full time as a linguist and translator and can translate between 3,000 - 4,500 words per day, depending on the language pair and subject matter. I collaborate with clients from Texas to Tbilisi in several different time zones, so I am always at the ready to respond to your inquiries.
