I'm presently living in Morocco, where I work for the Spanish Cultural Institute organizing cultural activities. I previously worked for the United Nations, namely the Economic Commission for Latin America in Chili (5 years) and Unesco (10 years) in Paris. I ended up in Morocco because my husband is Moroccan. I met him whilst working for Unesco in Paris. I cherish the experience I acquired during my UN years, because I travelled a lot, met people from different cultural backgrounds, who helped me become a better person, allowing me to have a broader view and being, as far as possible, unbiased. I learnt that no culture is better than another, just different and they all have positive aspects to offer. Living in Morocco has been an interesting experience. The lifestyle has permitted me to have a close relationship with my children, spending much time together. When my children were young I worked as an English teacher, and a free-lance translator and interpreter. |
