government departments.

My
excellent command of my languages comes not only from my formal education but
also from living in a bilingual country and having previously lived and worked
in Costa Rica. I am comfortable interpreting from a wide variety of accents,
and am adept at managing varying speaker speeds, utilizing techniques I have
both developed and learned.

My varied
work experiences and ongoing assignment interpreting for a Canadian national
news channel have given me solid knowledge on a wide range of subjects. I often
interpret in public settings and am able to maintain my composure, handle
stress and deliver high-quality interpreting. I know how to vary register and
tailor communication to the target audience, with clear communication being the
goal.

I view
interpreting as a team task, and I am known by colleagues and clients to be a
great collaborator and thorough researcher. Lastly, I take a lifelong learning
approach to my profession. This is reflected in my regular participation in
peer practice groups and seminars and my decision to enhance my experience by
completing a Master of Conference Interpreting program.
