Journalism has been my main occupation but I have been involved in different activities, and among them translation has occupied a prominent place for decades. The fact that I have worked for both the Brazilian and the American government in the translation of official documents has given me a great sense of responsibilitly and led me to pay great attention to the exact meaning of a text. My experience as press officer in the Brazilian Embassy in Paris has also forced me to be very cautious in the choice of words. I have translated books, subtitles for movies, texts for voice over, press releases, etc. In many occasions, I have worked as interpreter, including for live broadcast of Presidential speeches at the Voice of America.
