I have
graduated in Law in 2002 and started working for an
English law firm in Lisbon, Portugal -
Simmons and Simmons.
As a lawyer, I have worked both in English and Portuguese. This could mean drafting contracts or other documents both in English or Portuguese, or to address public entities in any of these languages.
Certified and sworn translations were also part of my job.
Later, in 2005, I have studied abroad:
European Master's Degree in Human Rights and Democratisation.
This meant living and studying in Italy (Venice) and this is where my knowledge of Italian comes from.
My Masters Degree was conducted in English (and French, sometimes), including writing the Thesis.
In 2006 I started working in the
Portuguese Parliament as a Legal Adviser.
This included a great knowledge of the political and juridical system, and International Institutions and International Relations also played a great role.
Currently I am doing a
PhD in International Relations - Conflict Resolution and our working materials are mainly in English.
I started
interpreting international conferences and speeches, including Academic Conferences.
I am also the
Translations' Coordinator of the Portuguese edition of an European magazine.
I belong to European Associations, which means that I travel a lot and make some
conferences abroad (European Social Forum, World Social Forum, European meetings).
Working languages: Portuguese (native), English, Italian, Spanish.
