With the CyberKnife® System, radiosurgery is
no longer limited to treating intracranial tumors.
The CyberKnife® System is a viable, non-invasive

imaging procedures to determine the size,
shape and location of the tumor. The process
begins with a standard high-resolution CT
scan, or for certain tumors other imaging
techniques, such as MRI, angiography or PET,
may also be used.
Planning – Following the scanning, the
image data is then digitally transferred to the
CyberKnife® System’s treatment planning
workstation, where the treating physician
identifies the exact size, shape and location of
the tumor. A qualified clinician then uses the
CyberKnife® software to generate a treatment
plan to provide the desired radiation dose to
the identified tumor location while avoiding
damage to the surrounding healthy tissue.
The patient does not need to be present
during this step in the process.
Treatment – During a CyberKnife® procedure,
a patient lies comfortably on the treatment
table, which automatically positions the
patient. Anesthesia is not required, as the
procedure is painless and non-invasive. The
treatment generally lasts between 30 and 90
minutes and is typically completed in one to
five visits.
Follow-up – Follow-up imaging, generally
performed with a combination of CT, MRI
and/or PET scanning, is usually performed in
the months following treatment to assess the
tumor’s response to the delivered radiation.

¿QUÉ ES EL SISTEMA CYBERKNIFE®?
El sistema de radiocirugía robótica CyberKnife® es una alternativa no quirúrgica viable y no invasiva para el tratamiento de los tumores en el cuerpo. Este tratamiento – mediante el cual se administran dosis de radiación alta a tumores con extremada precisión – le ofrece una nueva esperanza a pacientes con tumores inoperables, a los que requieren cirugías complicadas, o a aquellos que buscan una alternativa no quirúrgica.
El sistema CyberKnife® utiliza robótica que es guiada por imágenes y controlada por computadoras para administrarle al tumor múltiples rayos de radiación de energía alta desde
prácticamente cualquier dirección. EL PROCESO DE TRATAMIENTO

Humedales y manglares: Presentan suelos periódica o permanentemente inundados de aguas salobres, lo cual es un
factor limitante para el establecimiento y desarrollo de especies vegetales; sin embargo, los mangles son capaces de
eliminar el exceso de sal, lo cual es producto de un proceso evolutivo de esta especie.
Manglar es un grupo de árboles llamados mangle: mangle rojo, mangle negro, mangle blanco y mangle botoncillo. Es
una comunidad constituida de especies arbóreas de hasta 10m de altura. Estas especies son el sitio de refugio y
anidación de una gran cantidad de aves marinas. Durante las tormentas actúan como una barrera natural, reduciendo
el embate de las olas y los vientos huracanados. Sus hojas y tallos son un filtro natural que ayuda a la desalinización y
a la liberación de contaminantes de las aguas.
Selvas: es el ecosistema más rico y diverso de la Tierra. En la Península de Yucatán las selvas crecen en suelos
pobres y pedregosos dado que no existen ríos superficiales y el agua se encuentra en ríos subterráneos.
La gran selva maya es la masa tropical mas importante de América después de la Amazonia.Se extiende desde las

pétreos. Los arrecifes son áreas de refugio de las especies marinas y además producen gran cantidad de arena

Mamíferos.- Mono araña, saraguato, puma, tejón, ocelote, tigrillo, oso hormiguero, murciélago, entre otros.

Ecología y Medio ambiente
Los arrecifes alojan a 1 de cada 4 especies marinas. Junto con los bosques tropicales, estos bosques de animales
submarinos constituyen los ecosistemas más variados que existen en el planeta. Las colonias crecen lentamente, rara
vez un poco mas de un centímetro al año.Tal vez seria prudente decir que el tiempo esta del lado de los corales; sin
embargo, en las ultimas décadas, la contaminación, la pesca excesiva, el desarrollo costero acelerado y otros factores
han destruido un porcentaje de los arrecifes coralinos.
RESERVAS ECOLOGICAS
Aproximadamente el 25% de la superficie total de Quintana Roo se encuentra bajo algún esquema de protección
ecológica, con el propósito de conservar los recursos naturales y la impresionante diversidad biológica del Estado. Las
reservas ecológicas protegidas son : Area de protección de flora y fauna de Uaymil , Reserva de la Biosfera de Sian
KaAn, Reserva de la Biosfera de Banco Chinchorro, Reserva especial de la biosfera de Isla Contoy, Parque
Nacional de Tulum, Parque marino nacional Arrecifes de Cozumel, Parque marino nacional costa occidental de Isla

Wetlands and mangrove swamps: Present soil that is periodically or permanently flooded with brackish water, which is a limiting factor for the establishment and development of vegetable species; however, mangroves are able to eliminate the excess of salt, which is the product of a process of evolution of this species.
Mangrove swamps are groups of trees called mangroves: red mangrove, black mangrove, white mangrove and buttonwood mangrove. It’s a community made up of tree species of up to 10m high. These species are the shelter and nesting grounds of a great number of marine birds. During storms, they act as a natural barrier, reducing the pounding of the waves and the hurricane-like winds. Their leafs and stems are natural filters that help in the desalination and the liberation of contaminants from water.
Jungles: the richest and most diverse ecosystems on the planet. On the Yucatan Peninsula, the jungles grow on poor and rocky soil since surface rivers do not exist and the water is located in underground rivers. After the Amazon Rainforest, the great Mayan Jungle is the most important tropical mass of the Americas. It extends from the lowlands of Chiapas to the coasts of the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean, through the Yucatan Peninsula, Belize and Guatemala.
Approximately 1500 species of vascular plants also exist, of which 1350 are currently known, among which: the annatto, cotton, anacahuite, chaya, reed, coconut, cocoite, corn, white mangrove, orchids, palo de tinte, marine grass, cat’s claw, margarita de mar, stand out among many others.

Ecology and Environment
Reefs accommodate 1 in every 4 marine species. Together with tropical forests, these submarine animal forests constitute the most varied ecosystems that exist on the planet. The colonies grow slowly, rarely more than 1 centimeter a year. It might be reasonable to say that time is on the corals side; however, in the last decades, pollution, excessive fishing, accelerated coastal development and other factors have destroyed a percentage of coralline reefs.

Approximately 25% of the total surface of Quintana Roo is under some ecological protection plan, with the purpose of conserving the natural resources and the impressive biological diversity of the State. Customers Can Save Time and Money by Paying as Little as $20 in Advance
Miramar, Florida (October 1, 2012) – Spirit Airlines’ (NASDAQ: SAVE) carry-on bag program – which includes priority boarding – has proven successful for customers and the airline. It has helped speed the boarding process, ensured sufficient overhead space is available for all carry-on bags, and it has helped reduce the airline’s fuel consumption rate by the equivalent of nearly six million gallons in the past year alone. The success of the program has allowed customers to pay for only the services that they use and it has permitted Spirit to continue lowering fares for its customers.
Unfortunately, some customers are still waiting until they reach the boarding gate to purchase their carry-on. This slows the boarding process for all customers, delays flights, increases costs for the company, and ultimately results in higher fares for everyone.
Starting November 6, 2012, customers who wait until the last minute to purchase their carry-on at the boarding gate will be charged $100. The $100 carry-on bag fee is intentionally set high to deter costly delay-causing gate activity.
Much lower priced options are available for those who plan ahead and reserve their bags in advance with prices from as little as $20.
“Our goal is for no customer ever to pay the $100 fee,” says Spirit’s Chief Operating Officer Tony Lefebvre. “Spirit offers our customers multiple opportunities to avoid this unnecessary fee and save money. By planning ahead and paying for bags before getting to the boarding gate, our customers are saving time at the airport and speeding up the boarding process. When our customers choose these time-saving, self-service options, our costs go down, and we can pass those savings along to our customers.”
Spirit says advance planning can bring significant savings to customers if they purchase their bags in advance online when making their reservation, when checking in online, at an airport kiosk, or at an airport ticket counter. Checked bags are available for as low as $20 and carry-ons for as little as $25 (including priority boarding).
Spirit’s “Bring Less, Pay Less” bag program passes the cost of handling bags solely to those bringing bags rather than have everyone subsidize these costs. Customers who bring less, pay less. That’s exactly what has happened at Spirit. Spirit’s customers have reduced the amount of baggage, saved money and helped the company conserve the equivalent of nearly six million gallons of fuel in the last year alone compared to the rate of consumption before the introduction of the program.
