Mobile text messages are responsible for 10% to 12% of mobile telephony earnings in Venezuela, according to industry trade group Cavesein, as reported in local daily El Carabobeño.
Every month, Venezuelans send between 800,000 and one million text messages, according to Cavesein.
The trade group attributes the growth to the expansion of mobile phone use. Venezuelan telecoms regulator Conatel lists the number of mobile units in use this year at 10 million, and predicts that 12.5 million will be in use in 2006.
Cavesein is a private, non-profit industry group made up of companies that add value to mobile services, such as WAP downloads, text messaging and paid entertainment numbers.

I am in the world of translations since 2000 when I began as
a full time translator at the news agency Business News Americas in the areas
of telecommunications and information technologies, and also other sectors,
such as banking, oil and infrastructure. In 2005 I was promoted to editor of
the same above areas. I was in charge of
implementing Trados system; I helped in the elaboration of tutorials, and also
maintaining and upgrading the memories.
Since 2017 I am a freelance translator working for different
translation agencies in all kinds of projects. My last assignment was the
translation of algebra and geometry text for high school students.
