Areas: medicine, pharmaceutical industry, biosciences (biochemistry, biotechnology, microbiology, environment, diagnostics...), chemistry (including GHS, REACH, CLP regulations)
I have got plenty of experience in translating:
- medical papers/documents (mainly rare diseases, ophthalmology, cardiology and gastroenterology);
- pharmaceutical documents incl. SPCs, PILs, and clinical trial protocols, questionnaires, scales, as well as IVD - in vitro diagnostics - and medical devices).
- (M)SDS, chemical product registration, evaluation, authorization and restriction regulations (REACH, CLP, GHS, ADR), including biocides and other potentially hazardous substances
- quality-related, laboratory documents, as well as websites, news, SOPs, etc.;
Since 2004, translating for EURORDIS - Rare Diseases Europe.
Also since 2004, working as a linguistic validation consultant in the validation of PRO-measures and questionnaires, including recruiting respondents and healthcare professionals recruitment, as well as conducting cognitive debriefing interviews.
Previously taught a seminar on biomedical specialized translation for the Masters degree in Translation at the University of Coimbra, Portugal.
