italiano al inglés: Part of a clinical report on the efficacy and tolerability of a nutritional supplement for parenteral administration
Texto de origen - italiano 3.3. Randomizzazione e regime terapeutico
Traducción - inglés 3.3 Randomization and therapeutic regimen
As patients satisfying the criteria for eligibility came under our observation, they were brought into the trial and were put into one of two treatment groups, following a randomization list specially drawn up so as to ensure balance. The samples of the two drugs used in the trial were morphologically identical in order to ensure the double blind conditions and were labelled with the number of each individual patient in accordance with the randomization list. Both drugs were packed in glass bottles containing 25 g of lyophilized product, to be reconstituted immediately prior to intravenous infusion with 500 ml of physiologic solution or 5% glucose solution, according to the individual needs of the case in terms of caloric intake.
The B group received XXXXXXX X by slow intravenous infusion, adapting the dose to the requirements of the individual patient on the basis of the values of the nitrogen balance and azotaemia, in accordance with the following criteria:
- 0.15 g of nitrogen/kg/day to begin with; may be increased depending on the azotaemia in the first 24 hours.
- successive increments up to 0.30 g of nitrogen/kg/day depending on their nitrogen balance determined during treatment.
- ratio of nitrogen/exogenous calories from another source equal to approximately 1:120.

The majority of projects I work on concern healthcare and clinical trial-related texts, but I also have experience of translating or editing numerous other subject areas such as wine, food and some agricultural material; I translate or edit academic papers on various topics, and have worked on advertising copy for leading product ranges and marketing texts; I also edit miscellaneous texts, including many US to UK English texts in many different subject areas.
A comment from the end client on the re-translation of a technical document I undertook:
"This translation is spot on. Whoever did this in the end, did it very well indeed".
I have translated extensive research work on Central European Ribesia in recent years.
