Los OMNIBUS son grupos de discusión patrocinados por varios clientes (normalmente 2 ó 3) de diferentes sectores, en los que se distribuye homogéneamente el tiempo, utilizando las mismas muestras de individuos. Se comparten las muestras de individuos de acuerdo a afinidad en los objetivos de las investigaciones. Para investigaciones no muy profundas o en las que se quiere invertir más moderadamente.

Tanto la Investigación Cualitativa Específica (Ad hoc) como la Investigación Cualitativa Compartida (Omnibus) sirven para la realización de los mismos tipos de estudios.
