Estoy traduciendo un catálogo para una exhibición de arte: es una entrevista a la artista y la frase entera es:
Me gustaría que explicaras qué razones tienes para abordar los iconos elegidos, “mujer” y “vasija”, con tintas y carbón sobre papeles de mediano y gran formatohechos a mano gracias a lo cual logras obtener unas imágenes, visualmente, sugerentes y fluidas, a nivel de rasgos formales.
Mi intento hasta que me he quedado bloqueada:

I find "a nivel de" is mind-numbingly overused ¡n most contexts in Spanish ...

I have really had a problem deciding but I think this is the most adequate especially as I completely agree with you as regards "a nivel de"

I think the key is to express the idea without leaving anything out while refraining from translating word by word.

"formal" seems to refer to "forma" (shape), i.e. the shape of the woman and crockery
