Spanish term
Racionalización del derecho
Spanish to English
Social Sciences
Social Science, Sociology, Ethics, etc.
Sociología de los derechos humanos
This is a term used continuously throughout a book on Weberian sociology. It's various forms include "racionalización del derecho" and "derecho racionalizado". An example sentence is
"Los derechos humanos, en cuanto pretensiones típicas de legitimidad, se expresan en normas jurídicas inscritas en un ordenamiento racionalizado y formalizado.
Pero esto no significa que sea el proceso de racionalización del derecho el que sustente exclusivamente la consolidación de los derechos humanos."
The terms in contention so far are "rationalised" and "streamlined". Does anyone know of a specific translation for this concept?

the rationalization of law (in the West)
According to Weber with formal rationalisation, we ended up having so much legal procedures which had to be written down, that the need has arisen for us to have lawyers to interpret those laws for us. Law became so complex and regulated that a lay-person cannot understand them all. The formal rationalisation of law implies that laws are codified, impartial, and impersonal.

Through rationalization the mystical and seemingly ad hoc elements of the law were streamlined, categorized, and rendered “scientific” and logical.

Spanish term (edited):
el proceso de racionalización del derecho
the process of rationalising the law
But this does not mean that it is the process of rationalising the law that...
Under this sense for 'rationalise', from the Oxford English:
▶reorganize (a process or system) so as to make it more logical and consistent.

So depending on the context, also:
rationalisation of the law
the rationalised law

: Codifying would be another possibility, especially if they keep repeating the Spanish word.
