Le pregunté al abogado con quien trabajaba hoy. Según él, "There's not a whole lot of difference; the bench warrant has more oomph to it (que tiene más 'empuje') and is issued if the defendant fails to appear."
Me parece que la primera, la "orden de arresto" (arrest warrant) es una disposición imponiendo privación de la libertad a una persona acusada de una infracción.
La segunda, la "orden judicial de arresto" (bench warrant)—["bench" de "estrado"]—is issued if the accused has not been brought to justice.
Both are always "in effect" until resolved or otherwise revised, and both are "criminal" matters, así que no veo la razón por incluir "criminal" ni "vigente"... |
