My sister works for me as a typist because I have a tendinitis. But I wouldn't actually say that I "can afford it".
I've already hired a cleaning lady who comes 3 or 4 times a month to clean up our big mess and does the ironing as well. In the meantime, we try to keep our apartment as tidy as possible. My sons (aged 15 and 13) are not very happy with that kind of 'team building' but they cannot help it. I really like to cook and that has never been a problem. I also have a masseuse and visit her every week. As for workout, I'd recom... See more
Funny to see that most people answered "a cleaning person", that is, people from rich countries. From my experience of living abroad in rich countries, I know that such a person can be quite expensive and only works for some hours / few days a week. From my experience of living abroad in rich countries, I know that such a person can be quite expensive and only works for some hours / few days a week. Whereas in my country, a maid earns US$200 a month, and she lives at your own place (you need to have an extra room for her), and this means that she's available all day long. Of course, you must give her some time to rest and do her own things; some even attend school, but if you happen to have a party until late, she could be around to help. Or if the children leave at 7.30 am to go to school, she can prepare breakfast and their lunchboxes. Maids here not only clean, but also cook, iron and sometimes do some shopping at the market, take care of children or wash the clothing. So here it's not a matter of "If I could afford it" because most people can do it. I don't have one because my husband and I prefer to do these things together. In this way, we exercise a bit, and take better care of our things and appliances. We also like to do the gardening. I would like a driver because he would earn more than the maid, and I don't have the money at this moment to pay him. Also, because currently I am not driving (there's a whole story behind this!) and my husband has to take me to all sorts of places by car. He's my personal driver, but I wouldn't like to abuse while he can do other things.

lol i need wife too! | Aug 1, 2009 |
i'd hire a cleaning person...when I get busy and don't have time to clean this place looks like the Wreck of the Hesperus. But I'd also hire someone like a handyman who could do all those fix-it things and a computer specialist who would be on -call. | | | a personal chef | Aug 1, 2009 |
One that can worry about eating healthily on my behalf. All they have to do is present delicious healthy food and say "eat this". That would be ideal for me! | | | Kristina Radziulyte Lithuania Local time: 07:22 Member (2006) English to Lithuanian + ... MODERATOR Personal trainer and more | Aug 1, 2009 |
Being a workout junkie I naturally voted for a personal trainer. My first choice would be Tracy Anderson. I would also hire a personal stylist. And a personal eco vegetables provider. Oh I am such a dreamer... | | | Massages... yes!!! | Aug 1, 2009 |

Having a secretary full-time is a good idea, but for now when I need it, I have one that helps me. And I've already have a nanny that lives with us, "does" the cleaning and takes care of the kids. So... I'll go for the masseur On a side note: Back when I was in school, I thought that when I could afford it, I'd had someone to pack and unpack for me. Hated it! Now, I don't travel that much, but when I have to pack I still wish I had that person.
