I am a graduate of Cambridge University, specialising in Russian and Spanish languages and literature. I am a native English (UK) speaker, with near-native command of Spanish, Russian and Ukrainian, as well as a strong grasp of Polish, Norwegian, French and Italian. I have lived and worked in the UK, Spain, Russia and Ukraine, as both a language teacher and freelance translator.

My Cambridge studies focused heavily on translation from a range of genres, with my personal specialism being literary and academic translation from Russian. Over these four years I produced numerous first-class translations, receiving a special commendation for performance in translation examinations and producing the highest translation mark of my cohort. I have since tackled a variety of translation projects both privately and professionally, ranging from play scripts and TV subtitles to tourist brochures.

I am a frequent reader of Russian academia spanning sociology, technology and political science, and capable of translation from numerous disciplines high-level academic English. I have also published my own articles and co-edited for a film journalism site, and can provide colourful, lively translations of advertising texts and journalistic articles from Russian, Spanish and Ukrainian.
