If you have ever looked at a warning label on food or medicine, you may have noticed something that said “FDA Warning,” or “The FDA requires.” But what is the FDA, what does it do, and how does it enforce its rules?
What is the FDA?
FDA stands for Food and Drug Administration. It is also sometimes abbreviated as USFDA, for United States Food and Drug Administration. It is one of the United States’ federal executive departments, and is responsible for promoting public health via the regulation and supervision of food safety, tobacco products, dietary supplements, medicine, medical devices, and a myriad of other products.
The FDA is led by the Commissioner of Food and Drugs who reports to the Secretary of Health and Human Services. While the FDA is headquartered in Maryland, it has 223 field offices and 13 laboratories located throughout the 50 states, the United States Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico, as well as a number of posts abroad in countries such as China, Costa Rica, and the United Kingdom.

La FDA la dirige el Comisionado de Alimentos y Medicamentos, quien a su vez reporta al Secretario de Salud y Servicios Humanos. Android, iOS, and Windows Phone. Each has its pros and cons, depending on what you want. A crave-worthy phone design might lure you to a new OS, but most people we know prefer to start with the platform and go from there.
iOS
Apple's iOS has a well-integrated ecosystem, a very full apps marketplace, and a fairly intuitive interface, but you're pretty much locked into iTunes for content. If you already have a Mac, an iPad, and/or an iPod, it's probably easiest to go with an iPhone.
iPhones have the advantage of receiving the same OS upgrade at the same time, and the newest OS is usually available on multiple devices. iOS 7, for instance, will work on the iPhone 5S, 5C, 5, 4S, and 4 but not on the iPhone 3GS or earlier.
Android
For its part, Android is the most customizable OS and a wonderland for tinkerers . However, most manufacturers and carriers add a specialized twist, which can lead to slower OS updates, and to an interface that may require a little more ramping-up to do straight out of the box. On the other hand, phone-makers can use that custom layer to add a lot of software features that others just don't have.
True Android devotees should spring for the latest Google Nexus handset, or a Google Play Edition of a flagship phone.

The chateau into which my valet had ventured to make forcible entrance, rather than permit me, in my desperately wounded condition, to pass a night in the open air, was one of those piles of commingled gloom and grandeur which have so long frowned among the Appennines, not less in fact than in the fancy of Mrs. Radcliffe. To all appearance it had been temporarily and very lately abandoned. We established ourselves in one of the smallest and least sumptuously furnished apartments. It lay in a remote turret of the building. Its decorations were rich, yet tattered and antique. Its walls were hung with tapestry and bedecked with manifold and multiform armorial trophies, together with an unusually great number of very spirited modern paintings in frames of rich golden arabesque. In these paintings, which depended from the walls not only in their main surfaces, but in very many nooks which the bizarre architecture of the chateau rendered necessary -- in these paintings my incipient delirium, perhaps, had caused me to take deep interest; so that I bade Pedro to close the heavy shutters of the room -- since it was already night -- to light the tongues of a tall candelabrum which stood by the head of my bed -- and to throw open far and wide the fringed curtains of black velvet which enveloped the bed itself. I wished all this done that I might resign myself, if not to sleep, at least alternately to the contemplation of these pictures, and the perusal of a small volume which had been found upon the pillow, and which purported to criticise and describe them.

Se situaba en una de las torres más remotas del edificio. Su decoración era rica, pero desgastada y antigua. De sus muros colgaban tapices y estaban adornados con múltiples escudos de armas de distintos tamaños y formas en conjunto con un gran e inusual número de vivaces pinturas modernas en marcos recubiertos con ricos arabescos de oro, las cuales pendían de los muros no solo en sus superficies principales sino también en los recovecos que la extraña arquitectura del castillo hacía necesarios. Quizá en mi incipiente delirio fue que estas pinturas me provocaron un profundo interés, por lo que le pedí a Pedro que cerrara las pesadas contraventanas de la habitación, pues ya era de noche, para encender las velas de un alto candelabro que se alzaba sobre la cabecera de mi cama y descorrer de par en par las cortinas de terciopelo negro con flequillos que rodeaban la cama. Deseaba que una vez hecho todo esto pudiera resignarme, si no a dormir, alternadamente a contemplar estas pinturas y a leer un pequeño volumen que había encontrado bajo almohada y cuyo objetivo era analizarlas y describirlas.
