Texto de origen - ruso Шарль-Анри де Брант: Приходится слышать мнение, что в ваших фильмах, особенно в «Жервоприношении», нередко встречается переплетение мотивов, навеянных христианскими представлениями (например, чтение молитвы «Отче наш» Александром), а также более архаичных, скорее языческих представлений, находящих отражение в образе Марии, «доброй ведьмы». Это ведет к известному недопониманию. Кто же вы, христианин или нет?
Андрей Тарковский: Не думаю, что так уж важно знать, разделяю ли я какие-то определенные представления или верования — языческие, католические, православные, христианские вообще. Важен фильм. Мне кажется, его надо рассматривать в самом общем плане, а не как арену проявления противоречий, которые все время выискивают у меня некоторые критики. Произведение искусства не всегда зеркально отражает внутренний мир художника, особенно его наиболее тонкие стороны, хотя, безусловно, существует определенная логика в их соотношении. Вместе с тем художественное произведение может представлять точку зрения, отличную от точки зрения автора. Еще один момент: работая над фильмом, я все время думал о том, что его будут смотреть очень разные аудитории.
В детстве я как-то спросил отца: «Существует ли Бог?» Его ответ был для меня открытием. «Для неверующего — нет, для верующего — да!» Это очень важная проблема. Я хочу сказать, что фильм можно интерпретировать по-разному. Так, например, для зрителей, интересующихся различными сверхъестественными явлениями, самым главным в фильме станут отношения почтальона и ведьмы, в них они увидят основное действие. Верующие прежде всего воспримут молитву Александра, обращенную к Господу, для них весь фильм будет развиваться вокруг этой темы, И наконец, зрители третьей категории, у которых нет определенных убеждений, попросту скажут, что Александр больной, психически неуравновешенный человек. Таким образом, разные группы зрителей по-разному поймут фильм.
Я считаю, что зритель имеет право воспринимать то, что он видит на экране, в соответствии с собственным внутренним миром, а не с той точкой зрения, которую пожелал бы навязать ему я. Traducción - español Charles-Henri de Brantes: Se suele escuchar la opinión de que en sus películas, en particular “Sacrificio”, se encuentra frecuentemente un entrelazamiento de motivos inspirados en conceptos cristianos (por ejemplo, la lectura del “Padre nuestro” por Alexander), como así también de otros más arcaicos, más bien de tipo pagano, que se ven reflejados en la figura de María, “la bruja buena”. Esto conduce a una cierta incomprensión. Es usted cristiano o no?
Andréi Tarkovski: No creo que sea tan importante saber si comparto algún tipo particular de concepciones o creencias – paganas, católicas, ortodoxas, cristianas en general. Lo que importa es la película. Creo que hay que considerarla en el plano más integral posible, y no como un anfiteatro en el que se manifiestan las contradicciones, en las cuales escarban muchas veces algunos de mis críticos. La creación artística no siempre refleja a modo de espejo el mundo interior del artista, sobre todo sus partes más delicadas, aunque, sin duda existe una determinada lógica en sus correspondencias. Además, la obra artística puede exponer un punto de vista diferente al punto de vista del autor. Una cosa más: mientras trabajaba en la película, todo el tiempo tuve en cuenta que la iban a ver auditorios muy diferentes.
De niño alguna vez le pregunté a mi padre: “¿Existe Dios?” Su respuesta fue para mí un descubrimiento. “Para el que no cree – no, para el que cree – sí.” Es un problema muy importante. Quiero decir que la película puede ser interpretada de muchas formas. Por ejemplo, para los espectadores, interesados en los diferentes fenómenos sobrenaturales, lo esencial en la película serán las relaciones del cartero y la bruja, en ellas verán la acción principal. Los creyentes, ante todo, se apropiarán de la plegaria de Alexander, dirigida a Dios, para ellos toda la película se desarrollará en torno a ese tema. Y, por último, los espectadores de la tercera categoría, que no poseen convicciones definidas, simplemente dirán que Alexander es un enfermo, una persona con desequilibrios mentales. De esta manera, los diferentes grupos de espectadores comprenderán la película de forma diferente.
Creo que el espectador tiene el derecho de interpretar lo que ve en la pantalla en relación a su propio mundo interior y no en relación al punto de vista que quisiera imponerle yo. Mi objetivo es mostrar la vida, crear una imagen – una imagen dramática y trágica del ser humano moderno. Pero, al fin y al cabo, ¿puede imaginarse usted que una película así sea hecha por una persona que no cree? ¡Yo no puedo!
