Traducción - inglés The trial, referred to as SCIPIO, was conducted in 23 patients with severe heart failure who had undergone coronary artery bypass graft surgery. A total of 16 patients received cardiac stem cells, while the remaining seven (control group) received conventional treatment. The treatment group received an infusion of 1 million stem cells for an average period of four months following cardiac surgery.
The results showed that in 14 patients treated with this procedure, there was an increase in left ventricular ejection fraction from 30.3% before the infusion to 38.5% 4 months afterwards. There were no significant changes in the control group.
Positive results
The researchers highlight that the positive effects of the stem cell infusions were even more significant after a year following treatment in eight of the patients where left ventricular ejection fraction increased by 12.3% (from 30.2% before the infusion to 42.5% at one year post-infusion). In seven of these patients, magnetic resonance imaging showed a reduction in the size of the scar tissue (infarct) by 24% at 4 months and 30% at 1 year.

Bio
As an experienced qualified, dentist with an extensive medical background I am very familiar with medical and related health science terminology. I have run my own clinic in Spain for many years and I have the advantage of working in my field in my source language, whilst being a native English speaker. Specialist jargon, abbreviations, and obtuse explanations can cause problems for translators with no medical background. Healthcare providers have their own language and all related documents should be translated by another who truly understands that language and can communicate it accurately. Dentistry in fact has its own specialist niche as even very few medical doctors are familiar with the diseases and terminology of the head, neck, mouth and oral cavity.
After emigrating to Spain in 2009,I noticed the poor quality of many of the translations in the medical field, in particular the marketing and promotional material for products and services.
Having embarked on some specific translation training, I am now focused on providing accurate, relevant translations . For the last year I’ve been working as a Freelance Translator full time, specializing in medical, dental and pharmaceutical related work. This includes but is not limited to discharge summaries, laboratory reports, insurance medical reports, medical questionnaires, scientific papers, clinical guidelines and product information.
Questions, proposals as well as any consultations or collaboration are welcome. Look forward to hearing from you!
