Recientemente se ha realizó en la zona norte de Bogotá, la apertura del edificio Urban Plaza.
El proyecto más ambicioso en cuanto a renovación urbana, arquitectura sostenible y diseño se refiere; URBAN PLAZA, concebido alrededor de una plaza como eje central de encuentro social, cultural y de una exquisita oferta gastronómica. Situado en el esquina de la calle 90 y carrera 11 en plena zona financiera, empresarial y diplomática de Bogotá.
El conjunto del edificio lo componen un edificio de oficinas corporativas de 3.500 metros cuadrados, 10 locales comerciales, el nuevo y exclusivo EK Hotel y tres sótanos de parqueo, este gran proyecto con diseño acústico y bioclimático le dará un nuevo aire a esta zona emblemática de la ciudad.

Recently, the Urban Plaza building has been inaugurated in the north part of Bogotá.
The most ambitious project regarding urban renovation, sustainable architecture and design: URBAN PLAZA, conceived around a square –core of social and cultural meetings, with a marvellous gastronomic offer. It is placed on the corner of the 90th and the 11th streets, in the middle of financial, business and diplomatic area in Bogotá.
The complex is composed by a corporative office building of 3,500 square metres, 10 trade premises, the new and exclusive EK Hotel and 3 underground parking lots. This huge project, with an acoustic and bioclimatic design, will provide a new air to this emblematic area of the city.
The complex has the best security and access control measures, 3 underground parking lots with more than 200 spaces and a new system of vehicle parking.

For Roonie B. Moonie, today was a perfect day. The sun was shining brightly, warming his fuzzy shoulders, and the leaves in the garden were dancing in the breeze, causing Roonie’s propeller to spin wildly. The garden was humming and alive with mysterious sounds and scents, making it a great day to do what he loved most…exploring!
Roonie was buzzing with excitement as he filled his backpack with all the necessary supplies ̶ a flashlight, a magnifying glass and bee-noculars. He yearned to be a great explorer like his hero, Christopher Columblebee.
Mother B. Moonie, who often worried about her brave little bee, was careful to review the safety rules for being outside the hive. “Now Roonie, be sure to stay in the open. Be extra careful around strangers. And if you fly into trouble, remember to stay calm, listen to your feelings and use your head.”
Impatient (because he had heard these rules a thousand times before), Roonie eagerly flew off to begin his day of exploring. He buzzed around the garden until he became bored. Then, using his bee-noculars, he spotted an unusual object in the far distance that he had never seen before.

Para Zumbo Colmenar hoy era un día perfecto. El sol brillaba fuerte calentando sus esponjosos hombros y la brisa hacía bailar las hojas del jardín y que la pequeña hélice de su gorra girara sin parar. El lugar era un hervidero de sonidos y olores misteriosos, lo que convertía ese día en el ideal para realizar lo que más le gustaba: ¡explorar!
Zumbo revoloteaba emocionado poniendo en su mochila todo lo que iba a necesitar: su linterna, su lupa y sus binoculares. Quería convertirse en un auténtico explorador como su héroe, Cristolabejo Colón.
Su mamá, a menudo preocupada por su pequeño aventurero, repasaba con él las normas de seguridad antes de que saliera de la colmena:
̶A ver, Zumbo, asegúrate de volar siempre por espacios abiertos, ten mucho cuidado con los desconocidos y si te metes en apuros, recuerda: mantén la calma, confía en tu intuición y utiliza la cabeza.

I love languages so I decided to study English at the University. Nowadays, I'm improving my German on my own.
My first work was as an English and TI teacher in a private school, where my students were from 6 to 18 years old. I enjoyed the experience, although it was very hard.
Then, I had the chance of translating technical documentation for Alcatel. I spent there 8 years. This was a great experience, since I worked as an in-house translator and I was in contact with the engineers who created this documentation. I learnt a lot about format, Adobe apps and other software to save documents.
After this, I was offered a job as a Project Manager. It was very, very hard. I had to learn a lot, and I did! My boss was very strict with invoicing and this was good. I learnt a lot about invoicing, Excel and human resources too. But, what can I say? Economic crisis arrived and I was fired.
Eventually, I met people who helped me go on. I met Ana Maria Eulate, manager of Cuento de Luz publishing house, and I was offered to translate a tale (Lost and Alone, by Janan Cain). I met very good people in this company; we were a big family.
Then I worked as a proofreader for TextMaster.com.
I worked for Equinsa Parking as an in-house technical translator. This company is devoted to the manufacturing and installation of the payment systems and barriers in parking lots. Working in-house also allowed me again to learn a lot directly from the engineers and with simulators.
As a freelance translator, I have translated all kind of texts, from nature and birds, to yoga and meditation. Also contracts, deeds and this kind of legal issues.
I translated a web about children parties (how to prepare them, all the things you need, which made this web very active). I used the source code and Wordfast to translate it.
When teaching English in my private classes, I carefully prepare all the material and I think it is great, since I try to get students involved with English without realizing.
I have also attended very interesting courses: ‘Educational Innovation in the Classroom’, ‘QR Codes’ and ‘Safe Use of Social Networks’.
An incredible course about Wordfast and CAT tools, made me realize how many possibilities I have as a translator thanks to a wonderful teacher (one of my best teachers, indeed).
I have also created several blogs. Two of them were about leisure in Madrid (one in English and one in Spanish), but they are no longer active. Another is my personal blog. Finally, I have started practising meditation and I have created one blog about this subject. But the most important is the one that I include in my professional web about translation: http://amctraducciones.com. I have just created, so it is still too young and I am improving it little by little. You can visit to see how it is improving.
