El jefe de la policía de McAllen, Víctor Rodríguez, informó este lunes que sus agentes detuvieron este domingo a María Carmen García, de 27 años de edad, y a Daniel Guardiola Domínguez (28), ambos originarios de Monterrey, en el norteño estado mexicano de Nuevo León.
La pareja fue detenida cuando trataba de cruzar a Estados Unidos procedente de la comunidad fronteriza de Reynosa, precisó Rodríguez.
"Hemos recibido información sobre sus actividades y se obtuvieron órdenes de detención contra ellos. Hemos sido capaces de servir esas órdenes cuando trataron de regresar de México", explicó.
"Durante el arresto descubrimos que tenían otro alijo de tarjetas de crédito fraudulentas", detalló.
Las autoridades sospechan que las tarjetas de crédito que la pareja estaba usando procedían de la incursión cibernética registrada en diciembre pasado contra la cadena de tiendas Target.
En el ataque, los piratas informáticos entraron en el sistema de computadoras de la empresa y sustrajeron los nombres, los teléfonos y los números de información de tarjetas de crédito de cerca de 100 millones de clientes.

“During the arrest, we discovered that they had another stash of fraudulent credit cards,” he detailed.
The authorities suspected that the credit cards that the couple were using came from the cybernetic incursion recorded last December against the Target stores chain.
In the attack, the hackers entered in the company’s computer systems and stole the names, telephone numbers and the information numbers of credit cards from close to 100 million clients.
