I completed a degree in French and Italian at Cambridge University in the early 90s. I have lived in both France and Italy, and use both French and Italian regularly, but Barcelona, Spain has been my home for over 25 years now.

As well as studying Spanish and Catalan formally (I have a C2 certificate in Catalan), decades of using them on a daily basis means that I feel entirely comfortable working with both languages in all kinds of different contexts.

My years spent at website translation agency Weblations as Translations Manager in the late 90s honed my editing and proofreading skills. I am very thorough, and enjoy getting the tone of each text just right.

I specialise in social science, particularly political science. I have translated and edited a wide variety of academic papers and articles on many different political and sociological topics.

Of course, in over twenty years as a translator, I have also worked with many other texts: novels, audiovisuals, tourism, food and wine, the arts, marketing, business, medicine, contracts, and a long etc. I have also worked as a consecutive and liaison interpreter and have done voice-over work.
