Javier F. Becerra's Dictionary of Mexican Legal Terminology (2011), gives a translation for the first part of this,"Sociedad Anónima Promotora de Inversión", i.e. without "de capital variable":
"...literally investment promotion company; conceptually, private equity firm;..."
He then goes on to explain various changes in the law (Ley del Mercado de Valores) after 2006 that give more flexibility to privately-hel corporations than previous existed under the Ley General de Sociedades Mercantiles, allowing for the creation of this type of entity.
I assume, given his lengthy explanation, that he did a fair amount of research to come up with this equivalent.
I, on the other hand, have just tagged "variable-capital" on the front of it, so I'm not sure if that would be entirely correct!
