Spanish term
Mantenimiento de una limitación a un máximo
Spanish to English
Other
Transport / Transportation / Shipping
This is about the pay conditions of train drivers on cross-frontier routes. This is the whole sentence in the original text :
My try:"_____of one rest away from home and assurance/guarantee of compliance with minimum standards of board and lodging".
I can't find a good way of starting the sentence. Not sure of whether assurance or guarantee is the best term for this context either.
Thank you, and merry/happy Christmas.

Mantenimiento de una limitación a un máximo

Maintain the current limit
From what I understand, this is what the source text is rather clumsily trying to say. You could also use "maximum" instead of "limit", but not both.

BTW, I added "current" based on the logic that if this "limit/maximum" is being "maintained", then surely it is current, and I think adding it makes the English clearer.

Example sentence:
Maintain the current limit of one night away from home, and ensure compliance with the minimum standards for board and lodging

: I don't think "one non-residential stay" quite covers it though. I assume it means "one night/24 hours away from home".

Thanks Phil. That fits the context better all right!

keep the limit of away-from-home rest time to the current maximum
It seems that something is missing. What is the limit, maximum?
If it is is keeping or maintaining a limit/maximum, it would have to be the current norm/standard unless explicitly stated.
Also, limit can be substituted by maximum and maximum at the end substituted with norm or standard.

Maintenance of away-from-home rest periods to a maximum of one
