Spanish term

(perfiles) con carga comparativa alta

Spanish to English Social Sciences Social Science, Sociology, Ethics, etc. Research paper on eating disorders
This is from a research paper analysing eating disorders and people's exposure to imagery of body ideals on social media:

"Se ha empleado un diseño experimental aleatorizado con dos condiciones experimentales de exposición a imágenes y a perfiles de Facebook con carga comparativa alta y carga comparativa baja. Se ha considerado de carga comparativa alta cuando las imágenes incluyen personas con cuerpos dentro del ideal de delgadez y los perfiles de Facebook son de figuras famosas que cumplen con el ideal de belleza y éxito."

I'm not sure how best to express this. Any thought please?

Many thanks

Discussion

Muriel Vasconcellos Feb 3, 2022:
Meaning of "carga" I don't think it's 'incidence', which refers to an entire population. The text speaks of *types* of Facebook profiles, for example, which suggests to me that "carga" is used to describe individuals, not the presence of the condition in the population. My suggestion of 'rating' would mean that the authors graded the different types of profiles over a range of types.

with relatively high incidence

A possibility.
Peer comment(s):

agree philgoddard : You could just say "higher incidence".

neutral Muriel Vasconcellos : As I see it, the "carga" refers to the description of the type of individual, not to the level in the population. See my comment in the discussion.

relatively high rating

The authors are establishing the criteria, but no what the criteria are, it's a form of rating for the purposes of their research.
