Spanish term or phrase: RFC or TIN?
I am reviewing a Mexican employee resume in English and I am not sure if I should change the acronym "RFC" (Registro Federal de Contribuyentes) to "TIN" (Taxpayer Identification Number), or leave it as RFC. This appears on the information section at the top.

You should write it out in full as federal taxpayers' register, or federal taxpayer registration number.

You shouldn't use acronyms unless they will be understood by everyone who reads them - USA or UK, for example. Your job as a translator is to make life as simple as possible for the reader.

Explanation:
If the person is listing their own RFC/ITIN for the purposes of obtaining the job in the United States, I would use ITIN.
However, if they're referring to their number as it pertains to work they've done in Mexico, or the term in general as it refers to Mexico, I would use RFC followed by: (Federal Taxpayers Registry)
