Spanish term

poder/poderes (in this sense)

Spanish to English Bus/Financial Finance (general)
Context: in another part of a FAQ on an official Spanish website regarding the method by which credit institutions can apply for state financial guarantees:

P: El poder que se acompaña a la solicitud, ¿puede presentarse en fotocopia?

R: Sólo se aceptarán originales o fotocopias compulsadas de los poderes.

Poder is the only problem. I've seen it variously translated as proxy or power of attorney, but would authorization be a good translation here?

Any help gratefully received :-)

power of attorney

I don't see why it shouldn't be power of attorney...

Proxy

A proxy is a document that entitles to make some decision legally in someone's stead. It looks like this is what you are looking for, no?
