Estoy traduciendo una patente sobre métodos para la remoción de impurezas del proceso Bayer. EN la sección dedicada al arte previo aparece lo siguiente:

The coarser solid particles are generally removed with a "sand trap" cyclone. To separate the finer solid particles from the liquior, teh slurry is typically fed to the center well of a mud settler (also called a decanter, a residue thickener or a **raking thickener) where it is treated with a flocculant. As the mud settles, clarified sodium aluminate solution, referred to as "green" or "pregnant" liquor, overflows a weir at the top of teh mud settling tank and is passed to subsequent processing steps."

Yvonne, busqué en IATE y encontré que espesante es la palabra para thickener. Respecto a "raking", parece que efectivamente se refiere a rastrillo o rastrillar. Sugiero entonces "espesante rastrillador" o "espesante por rastrillado/rastrillaje".

Otra opción. Como el equipo en cuestión es un sedimentador, me parece mejor nombrarlo así.

Lo de "con pendiente" es una posibilidad, ya que rake / raking tiene esa acepción también (F. Beigbeder Atienza).

En el vínculo hay una descripción de un tanque de sedimentación, y en la pág. 8 hay un esquema del modelo "con placa inclinada".
