The CAT tool is for my convenience, not that of the client.

Some clients are still blissfully unaware of the existence of CAT tools.

What? Does anyone use CAT tools for their client and not for themselves? Feb 2, 2016

Precisely, Neilmac.

But I never used a CAT tool for my client. I use it for myself, obviously. If it weren't useful for me, I wouldn't use it. And I was reluctant as many colleagues stated below, for a good while. Now I use it for practically all translations, building wonderful TM and TB, cleaning them up regularly, reorganizing, etc. This is equity!

Yes, always Feb 8, 2016

It usually makes sense because I can use my general TM and termbases, track progress etc. I only make exceptions for poorly scanned or handwritten documents which require a lot of time to be converted to a CAT-translatable format.
